I judge the success of my art on how many hearts the work is able to touch. At the show Stories Over The Washing Line at Burren College of Art, a woman came stumbling up to me in my exhibit titled feel everything. She appeared disoriented at first.
"Are you the artist?"
I know now, that this woman was the singular reason why I made the work. She told me she was deeply moved, the work had touched her on an astounding level, so intensely that she had temporarily lost all coherence and composure.
"There is a slow romantic sadness. I feel it."
